International Refugee Day
Invitation to the exhibition for World Refugee Day
Refugee Women – Stories of Fate, Courage, and Human Rights
We invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Refugee Women – Stories of Fate, Courage, and Human Rights,” which, on the occasion of World Refugee Day, presents portraits and personal stories of six women who sought a new home in Slovenia due to war or persecution.
The exhibition features the stories of six women: Aida Kamishalić Latifić from Bosnia, Arbnore Avdilaj from Kosovo, Islam Abuamr from Palestine, Natalia Ignatova from Ukraine, Rose Bay from Cameroon, and Shiva Nazarahari from Iran. Through personal stories, photographs, and conversations, the exhibition opens up space for reflection on war, homelessness, and rebuilding a new life in Slovenia, solidarity, and human rights.
The photographs are by Nino Bektashashvili, and the stories are by Jasna Gabrovšek.
Today, the exhibition’s grand opening and a roundtable discussion with questions and answers from women who found themselves in Slovenia took place.
The event was held in English.
