AKZ members were delighted to participate in the international “Toloka. Cleaning Our Common Home” campaign on November 13, 2025.

As of the end of September, 4.3 million Ukrainians in the European Union held temporary protection status. Although many Ukrainians abroad work, study, and actively participate in society, they are often portrayed as simply receiving aid. Eurosceptic and anti-Ukrainian groups exploit these stereotypes to undermine support for Ukraine.

“We are Cleaning Our Common Home” is a volunteer campaign launched by the Strichka platform. It aimed to improve the image of Ukrainians in the European Union and highlight their role as active and responsible members of local communities.

💙💛The campaign ran from November 2025 to March 2026 and covered 13 cities in nine countries – Lithuania, Germany, Slovenia, France, Italy, Estonia, the United Kingdom, Spain, and the Czech Republic. Fourteen local organizations collaborated on the ground.

Slovenia was the first country to hold a cleanup as part of this initiative. On November 13, Ukrainians, together with representatives of the NGO “TOGO,” took part in a volunteer program cleaning and caring for plants at the Ljubljana Botanical Garden, one of the oldest in Europe.
