On October 9-10, in the city of Split, Republic of Croatia, at the initiative of the Government of Croatia and with the participation of the Ministry of Veterans of Ukraine, the first international veterans conference was held on the issues of resocialization and rehabilitation of veterans, in which representatives of the ACZ also took part.

Prime Minister Andriy Plenković, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Veterans Affairs of Croatia Tomo Medved personally initiated and implemented this important and necessary event in modern times for mutual exchange of experience in the reintegration into society of veterans of wars and combat operations.

The first international veterans conference was attended by delegations from 15 countries, including Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Sweden, France, Denmark, Belgium, Poland, etc. There were also representatives of the Ukrainian Government, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The forum also brought together representatives of at least 13 non-governmental, international and donor organizations and think tanks, such as NATO, UNDP, OECD, GIZ, etc.

The Ukrainian delegation at the forum included representatives of charitable and public organizations of Ukraine – Povernys zhivym, Princip, Superhumans Centr, Azov Care, Vesta, Kyiv regional administration, General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as 10 Ukrainian veterans.

A very productive and useful exchange of experience in rehabilitation, resocialization of veterans, state support for veteran movements took place between delegates from the European Union and Ukraine.

Representatives of the governments of the European Union countries clearly emphasized that the European Union’s assistance to Ukraine in its fight for independence against Russian aggression is and remains an unchangeable political decision. A memorandum on the implementation of the Security Agreement was signed with the Ministry of Veterans of Croatia.
